Climate Camp: August 3-11

Quite a bit different from the first half of my week, I ventured out to the countryside on Thursday to visit Climate Camp, a week long protest to stop a power plant from being built. Although there is plenty to do for the entire time, with direct action planned for Saturday, I opted out of the tenting experience and thought just a day was enough.

Vegan lunch. Thankfully I packed my own Chewy bar & Propel to last me the day

The kitchen. Everything these people created to survive for the week was completely environmentally friendly, from the stoves to the toilets.

There were more cops than people in the areas surrounding the site, already making arrests with more to come by Saturday. Although they weren't allowed in the camp, they had numerous search points, and I was searched thoroughly twice. Luckily, I made it home safe and sound at the end of the day.
